Will I have unlimited access to
my site for updates?- Top
Yes. You have unlimited access via FTP 24 hours a day 365 days a year. As
such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and
upload files to your web site any time you wish.
Can additional domains be pointed
to my main domain?- Top
Yes. We can alias (park) additional domains to point to the same main page
as your master domain and it will also share the same mail system. There
is a one-time $25.00 set-up fee and $5 per month for each domain you add
as an alias.
Can I host domains in the sub-directory
of my account?- Top
Yes, by utilizing our Fake IP addon. It is a CGI based tool that provides
the ability to point additional domains to subdirectories of your main domain.
There is a one-time $35.00 set-up fee and $10 per month for each domain
you add as a Fake IP.
Who handles Domain Name Registration
for my clients?- Top
You do. We provide easy-to-use registration forms that work in conjunction
with DlpHost's Domain Name Services domain registration databases. Any domain
that is submitted through our registration forms is setup within 4 hours.
How is billing handled?-
Top
Every month we send you an email invoice/statement for the charges that
you have accrued for that month. The statement will list all the details
of your account and our options to pay. If you have elected to pay with
a credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) your account will be
automatically billed. If you wish to pay with a check or a wire transfer
you will have 7 days to tender payment to DlpHost.
What are your Network capabilities?-

You and your clients are hosted on our fiber optic network, which connects
to the Internet through 5 redundant DS-3, OC-3 and OC-12 multi-homed connections.

What Operating System and Server
Software is being used?- Top
All our UNIX based systems run a customized version of RedHat with the powerful
Apache Web Server and Apache SSL Server for secure transactions. Additionally,
we offer Microsoft-based systems using the Windows 2000 Advanced Server
operating system.
What type of hardware are you
using?- Top
For maximum reliability all our servers are custom-built using the best
components currently available in the industry. Since there are constant
improvements in the hardware industry, we ensure that we upgrade all our
systems e very 3-4 months, thereby providing you and your customers access
to the latest machines equipped with fast processors and lots of memory
and storage space.
Does DlpHost offer any dial-up
access to the Internet?- Top
No, you will need to contact your local Internet Service Provider (ISP)
for local dial-up access to the Internet. We do offer dedicated Internet
connectivity such as fractional T-1 service. Contact us for more information.
What about accepting credit cards,
can I do it securely?- Top
All of DlpHost's web hosting packages come with complimentary use of our
shared SSL certificates. Each certificate uses 1024 bit security to ensure
that every credit card submitted on your web site is encrypted prior to
the information being sent to you.
Do you offer any pre-configured
CGI-scripts?- Top
Yes, DlpHost offers 33 free, pre-installed CGI-scripts on all of its Unix-based
packages. These include FormMail, cgiemail, Guestbooks, WWWboard (bbs),
and guest counters. Our Windows 2000 packages come with 6 pre-installed
handy cgi-scripts.
Does DlpHost allow for custom
cronjobs to be setup?- Top
DlpHost does allow custom crons. However, these must be approved on a case-by-case
basis by our support team. There will be an additional montly cost depending
on the complexity and the frequency of the program the cron is executing.
Do you maintain backups of my
data?- Top
Yes. On our shared and developer accounts, we backup your web directory
daily on to our tape backup machines. Additionally, through PLESK
you have the option to compress and backup your web files directly.
Can I access my domain without
the "www" in front?- Top
Yes. You will be able to access your domain address with or without the
"www" in front of the domain name. Example: [http://www.your-name.com] or
[http://your-name.com] is acceptable, whichever you prefer.
How long does it take to set-up
a new account?- Top
Average new account set-up usually is completed within 3-4 hours from the
time we receive your order, but can happen as quickly as 10-15 minutes depending
on your requested account. Once your account is set-up, you will be emailed
your Account Login information (User ID, Password & FTP hostname) along
with some useful URLs to help you get started. You can immediately start
uploading files to your new web site. Domain account users will be given
a temporary URL to access their site via the web prior to the completion
of either domain registration or domain modification. Windows 2000 accounts
generally take between 4-12 hours to configure and deploy.
